The La Crosse Technology BC700-CBP battery charger works with all NiCd and NiMH AA and AAA rechargeable batteries and can actually increase the power capacity of some older rechargeable batteries. Choose the Discharge Mode to completely discharge the batteries energy and then recharge it to full capacity in one cycle. The Refresh Mode restores the maximum capacity of your batteries by utilizing a 20 cycle discharge and charge mode. The BC700 also offers a Test Mode that determines the true capacity of your batteries. Includes power adapter.

It's nice to see an actual number to let you know what the charge is. I can't say enough how great this product is and the options you have, yet its easy to use.

I bought this charger based on the reviews to use with some Eneloop batteries. So far it has been a great item. I love the refresh feature and the fact that you can choose the charging voltage. It seems to do a very good job of maximizing the life of your batteries.

I had a bag of old rechargeables and this restored them....it does take a couple of days to cycle through the "refresh mode" I simply would have 4 in at a time, and in the morning, one or two would be done, then the next morning another one or two would be done. I plan on using the batteries for substitutes while slow charging the eneloops.
I heard complaing about the interface....just insert battery and before it's channel quits flashing, press the mode button until you get the mode you want, then press the "current" button to select the current.
While it only goes up to 700 mah speed, if you are buying the new LSD batteries (like the eneloops) you shouldn't need a quick charger.....besides, the lowest setting of 200 is preferred anyway.
Overall-----get the new LSD batteries (eneloops or other pre-charged batteries) and this charger and you'll be set...also if you have old rechargeables that are dead, this thing can restore them----i did have to "jumpstart" some of the old energizer's to get them above .9 volts , but now they are at full capacity of 2500.

Great price and great features. Cons are a bit complicated controls and low charge current. Default 200 mA isn't good, and even max 700 mA is not sufficient for fast and effective charge of Ni-MH batteries.
It's not true that slower charge is better, Ni-MH batteries like their charge current to be equal to their capacity.

I use a lot of high-capacity rechargeable batteries for my off-camera flashes - and this charger is able to charge them fast and reliably. I love the refresh and calibrate options, which allow you to really extend the useful lifetime of your batteries; the only beef I have is that those refresh/calibrate cycles can take a loooong time to complete (probably goes for any charger with those capabilities, though).
