It doesn't work! February 20, 2010 E. Taranto (Boston, MA, US) Right out of the box it didn't work. I turn it on and it turns off in less than one second. The hold button doesn't work. The C/F button doesn't work. UPS picked it up the next day for return :)
Mostly Good February 12, 2010 Steve VanderMeer (Fort Collins, CO United States) This is a quick, accurate thermometer. Easy to use, long battery life and has held up well for several years. My only complaint is the temperature guide that is wrapped around the plastic sheath did not last. First the lettering wore off and then the plastic laminate peeled off. For those of you who know your meat temperatures, this is no big deal, but I appreciated the quick confirmation of what Rare or Medium Well is in my hamburgers.

The item purchased has not been used as of the present but it has been reviewed at different sites and this is why I could not help but purchase one.
Handy little tool January 31, 2010 Older Audiophile (Boston, MA) I really like this digital thermometer. It is very quick and appears to be accurate in testing that I have done. My son, a chef, highly recommends it as well.
Will not calibrate January 30, 2010 D. Rapp Reads 6 degrees at room temperature. Will not calibrate because, "... to avoid accidental calibration, this function only works when the water temperature is 30 to 34." Since it thinks the ice bath for calibration is at -17 (which is impossible for there to still be any liquid), it rejects the calibration. So the calibration can only correct it by 2 degrees? Why bother?
